[Solved] Service Interruption: Roku Device Activation

If you continue to experience problems, please perform a full restart of your device by disconnecting it from the power source, waiting a short while, and then plugging it back in.

  • Just got a roku TV from a friend that factory reset it before I bought it. I'm trying to link my to tv to my account and I've received the email and entered the activation code. When it then transfers me to the roku website I just get a blank roku screen that is constantly reloading. I've tried a different email and the same thing happens. Anyone know how to fix it?

        I have exactly the same problem. Tried to go chat through their messengers and it just ends the chat. Tried to call their number and it doesn't work. 

  • Just bought a Onn. Roku Smart TV. Really excited to use it until I could not activate it. After clicking the email link it takes me to a web page that keeps refreshing over and over again and never works. This is extremely frustrating. Has anyone found any solutions???

      Same issue I bought one from Amazon brand new and I am unable to activate even after resetting my password when I log into the browser portal it keeps flickering and never displays my account page I cleared out all history tried different browsers all the same result

        i bought a new Roku Ultra from amazon which was delivered today. 

        Having the same problem with the activation page, it keeps on resetting/refreshing which is frustrating.

  • I've followed all the steps, but once I log-in to Roku the website just keeps trying to load. I see others with similar issues. I've tried the link and the QR code with the same results. Can't get past activation. Also while logged in, when I try to choose "My Account" on the website, the site starts glitching/looping. Help, please.

    Cannot activate constant loading.  Reset device, reset modem, used phone then pc, tried barcode, tried new email.  I have taken down every security device I have to no avail. HELP

      I am having the same issue.  I've followed all the set-up and activation steps.  Set-up account, but the website just keeps flashing.

        Per Reddit :  I work at Roku, we are seeing this problem, and it's being looked at urgently. 

  • Trying to activate my Roku box. I’ve had this box for a while and when I put my email in it activate it through email the home screen won’t update.. anyone else having this issue?

      Yes, my screen wont acknowledge that I've clicked on the activation link in the email and the QR code option isn't working for me either. So frustrating

  • My brother gifted me a Onn 24" Roku TV but because he didn't wipe his info, I went ahead and did a factory reset (hard reset in the advanced settings section). From here, I'm able to complete the page where it asks for language, region, and even wifi network. It then checks for software updates, and then it asks for an email address. This where the problem persists. I enter my email address and wait for the email to pop up on my phone. I click on the "activate account" link on my email, and this is where it begins to do an infinite boot loop on the "my.roku.com/signin" page. It just keeps refreshing the page over and over again and never full loads. I've even tried using the QR code sign in instead of email and it's the same thing. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's on Roku's end. And yes, I have tried unplugging and even tried factory resetting multiple times. This is driving me insane, someone please help me!

      I am having the same issue. I did a factory reset this morning and cannot get past the Roku account page.

      What page is in the refresh loop? On the phone or the TV? If it's on the phone, can you try using a different browser?

  • Thank you for looking into this. I've been tearing my hair out for the last 3-4 hours thinking I was doing something wrong with my new Onn Roku TV. I even deleted my entire roku account just to make a new one with the same email to see if that would fix. 

  • Whenever I try to activate my Roku it says to go to Rokusetup.com/activate, but that link does not work!! How do I activate I my Roku HD? The only option is to go to that link and put in the code that’s displayed on the tv!
