[Solved] Roku Live TV "Network error" issue

Hey everyone!

We've received reports about the Roku Live TV having a "Network error" issue. 

Status update: We believe that the issue is now resolved. If you're still experiencing the problem, try performing a software update. 

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select System
  4. Select Software update
  5. Select Check Now to manually check for updates

Then, try launching the Live TV guide again and see if you can now stream on it.

    Hey everyone! 

    Status update: Good news! We believe that the issue with Live TV should now be resolved. 

    You should be able to access Live TV by exiting the channel and re-entering it. If you're still experiencing the problem, please try performing a software update.

    1. Press Home on your Roku remote
    2. Scroll and select Settings
    3. Select System
    4. Select Software update
    5. Select Check Now to manually check for updates


    Then, try it again and see if you're able to stream successfully on it.

    "Network Error", can't access Roku Channel, started about 30 minutes ago. Tried all recommended suggestions, unplugging wifi modem, router, tv & roku device & plugged back in, other devices on same wifi working ok, reset network connection, re-entered wifi password, wifi signal is "excellent" per app, lastest software updates installed, but still not working.

    Roku Model: 3820R2- Streaming Stick 4K, Device ID: S0J7342D5NXM, Serial Number: X025007D5NXM, Software Version: 14.6, unable to get Tracker ID using above instructions, & Internet Provider: Spectrum, Hisense QD6 Fire TV

      I also have a Roku Streaming Stick 4K, and I have just this evening started getting the exact same thing you clearly reported above.  I guess they're working on it.  I wonder how many competent guys they have on the job on a Sunday night.

    Please help! Neither of my ROKU TV’s are working correctly! They are different brands of TV, my internet IS connected, yet all my Roku channels are GONE, and when trying to access them it says to check Network connection, and when I do that it says it IS connected and shows my network. I CAN access/watch my few steaming services, my iPhone is also connected and working properly on the internet. My “regular” antenna channels are working but menu is not showing what show is on. What is going on, and how do I fix it?

    Same problem and I’ve done everything that I know to do to reset it. Nothing has worked so far, but I can still watch my show. I just have to go through some more steps. Hope it’s fixed soon!

      I’m probably going to use the Tubi app for tonight since it has the same channel I watch on Roku lol

    But the issue is on all my devices 4 streaming 4K sticks and my Ultra device. Guide don't load and says check my network

    Mine is apparently fixed.  I can only assume others' units are working now too.  Thanks.

    I still have this issue on my Ultra 4802 that started after the update to OS ver. 15.0.4.5534 on Monday night.

    I can recreate it in the following way.......

    Soft restart my box. Since I have Ethernet connected to most of my devices, the Ultra defaults to the wired connection.

    Then I change to Wi-Fi connection, the box is properly connected, and then I run the check network connection test to see if my speed is nominal, checks fine, and then I get the blank screen and network error pop-up in Live TV.

    And what's funny is that the problem will cure itself, but it can take upwards of a half hour to do so.

      There is no error code associated with the popup. As I described above, it is a soft restart that initiates this issue.  Only started after the OS ver, 15 update.  The issue affects any/all live TV channels and the live guide itself.  No other streaming services on Roku or other streaming devices or smart TV's on my network are effected. 

      I have only one private network, and I've tried the usual troubleshooting steps, like using static channel assignment and trying other channels/bands.

      I have never seen this on my Roku until after the OS ver. 15 update. What makes it harder to pin down is that the issue, as I described, will resolve itself over a period of time; usually within some interval of minutes.

      Hi Pompey​

      Looks like you're running a blank screen on Live TV, followed by a network error message. Letʼs get more details on this.

      • Do you see an error code in the pop-up message on the screen?
      • Does the issue continue after restarting your Roku device?
      • Are other Live TV channels affected as well?

      In the meantime, try connecting the device to another network.

    So I went away for the weekend. My TV was off all weekend. Before I left the Live TV Guide app worked perfectly fine. I could see the channel that I usually have on. And the actual guide would let me see other channels. But when I turned my tv on to the Live TV Guide app the channel guide is blank and the channel I usually have on is blank as well. But when I'm on the Home Screen and go to the left side of the screen with the list of things and click the Live TV option it shows my channel I normally watch. And when I click on it it starts playing the channel but it also pops up with saying WiFi connection issue. But when I check my network it shows it connected and other apps work perfectly fine. I’m not sure how to fix this or what is happening.

      Its roku. Obviously.  Mine quit too but all other apps work perfectly. Its not a network issue. I hooked up to a Hotspot and still nothing. They're probably in the process of adding even more ads somewhere

      I also tried restarting my TV and even resetting my network settings but nothing worked.
