I’m getting the same error.  Mine is a used 4K TCL tv that I did the factory reset on.

I'll try the hotspot...but you have at least 5 people with the same issue, I doubt we all have network issues at the same time.

I'm on FiOS using a mesh network that works amazing. I rebooted the network just in case, reset the TV 5 times, hardwired the TV, all the same results.

A friend has a HiSense TV and says this error comes up randomly on his TV, but not the Roku boxes. He has to wait and turn the TV on later and it's fixed. This seems crazy.

I'll be making this a "dumb" TV and using a Firestick if this is common for these ...

Edit: I'll eat crow. Hotspot worked. Why would every other device I've ever used on this WiFi work great but not the TV?

Same! Westinghouse from Aug 2024 that I just picked up today.

Is this related to the warning on the homepage about a third party outage?

Mine fails when it tries to do a software update right after connecting to my wifi.

Edit: Just tried a wired connection to rule that out. Same result, same error.

  • This has nothing to do with internet providers.  Quit telling people that.  This is an issue with Roku, not everyone's various ISPs.  Have the same issue.  Tried mobile hotspot.  Same issue.  Onn Roku TV.  Rebooted, Factory reset about a dozen times.  What I don't get is why Roku's stock price keeps going up.  It should be cratering, considering the amount of people who are gonig to bail ship on this platform after this.  I switched over to my backup google chromecast.  No issues there.

  • I am having issues with a roku box model 3920RW. Serial YH00WV580918 (JG447W580918). Software version 15.0.4, build 5534-91.  Issue ID 18-423-540 and 18-423-579. I can't access the device ID because I am stuck in setup.

This box was working yesterday, it stopped working today.

When I do a network search it does not always find my network, most times it only finds my surrounding neighbors. After clicking search again several times it will find my network. When it finally finds my network:

I have bright speed internet. It connects to the internet with an Excellent signal.

It will not connect to my mobile hot spot even though it says it has a Good signal.

I restarted and unplugged both the roku and router several times. When I tried to check for updates on the roku I got a message the update could not be installed and to try again later. 5 hours later I did a factory reset, now I can't get to the home page or the menu to access the settings because I am stuck in the setup screen. After I connect to my internet it says downloading then gives me the, can't install update message or something went wrong error.

I have a roku TV in another room that is working fine. The location of the Roku TV is further away from the router with more walls compared to where the roku device that is having issues is located.
