Updated to 14.6.4.9911 on the night of June/17/2025 (after I responded).

No change, the issue is still persisting.

Hello again. After update to build 9909, the issue persists. Any update on fixing this sync issue that was introduced with the 14.6.4 software release?

It is no joy using a TV where video and audio are not synced. The long wait for a fix now points to one thing: It would be a welcome feature for the user to be able to downgrade to a previous Roku OS release, or to disable these forced updates. Regressions in software updates are an issue not only concerning Roku, but after 2 weeks this has become an issue that one cannot just gloss over, as it concerns an absolutely basic function of a TV that needs to be rock solid.

Wanted to leave some feedback after updating to 14.6.4.9909 on June/10/2025.

After updating, then rebooting the TV a second time, apps would initially be in sync, but as I went from app to app, from HDMI input to HDMI input, the apps would no longer be in sync during playback.
The temporary fix would be to restart (reboot) the TV then go straight into the desired app.
    Thanks

BreenX, thanks for the feedback and update!

Have you received any recent updates? Also, is the issue still persisting? If so, can you share the latest software version of the Roku TV so we can take a look?

Update 14.6.4.9909 on June/10/2025 was the last one that I have had, nothing since that.  The issue is still persisting.

After I updated to 14.6.4.9905 on May 29, 2025, all of my video apps on the TV are no longer in sync with the audio. There is a noticeable difference in audio timing with the video. Video is lagging behind the audio. Tested same apps on Xbox Series X, and Google TV Streamer (4K), and the apps on those devices have perfect audio video synchronization.

    Thanks

      Hey everyone!

      Thanks for reporting!

Status update 6/9: We're currently investigating the audio issue impacting customers with TCL Roku TV, which was out of sync after an update.

To help us know more about it and proceed with the investigation, can you share some info?

      • Do you have any other audio devices/peripherals connected to your TV?
      • If you have, does the problem persist if you use the built-in TV speakers?

Let us know what you find!

      Thanks again,

I have the same issue and it started happening at or about the same time frame.  The video is behind the audio.  I tried a hard reset on the TV and it didn't help.  I called TCL and did what they told me to do, it helped a little for about 5 minutes and then went back the way it was, not matching up.  This is happening with all of my streaming apps, MLB, Youtube, Netflix etc.  Is this a Roku system issue?

        Thanks for chiming in, Chuck208!

We see that you're also having audio syncing issues with your TCL Roku TV.

To help us dive into the problem, can you share the info requested on this thread so the team can investigate?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Over the last 2 years, there had been several occasions were audio / video were very noticeably out-of-sync, and in my case always with sound preceding video. Not speaking to external sources like PS4 or PS5 playing a BluRay disc, which have their own challenges... this post is about streaming apps. These issues seemed to have been reigned in recently, until now.

Now, it looks as if the current problem started with Roku OS update 14.6.4 (9905). Audio precedes video by about 250-300ms, and this can be verified with AV sync test videos that are available on Youtube. So I did use the iOS Roku app once more to fix (calibrate) the A/V sync, which only seems to take effect after the TV has been restarted again.

After restart, the sync is fine for a while. But then at some point (and I cannot find an obvious trigger), audio again becomes out-of-sync (for all apps). Have to restart the TV again to fix this. I wonder if this is the audio/video calibration that stops working somehow. (Might verify my suspicion later on, since the calibration can be reset in the Roku app.)

Notably, some apps still have slightly early audio in general (such as Shudder), which is barely noticeable when things are good, but extra worse when things have switched back to bad. I wouldn't write this post if all this had been old news, but the on-and-off intermittency of the problem ,fixable by restarting, seems new since the last software update.

My audio goes to an AV receiver via optical cable and is configured as such, with Dolby 5.1 as default.

Any advice or other folks experiencing the same?
